O.K... I can almost see the furrowed brows on some of my collectors' faces. So I have also published the "Collector's Edition" with my traditional white background that will go with the rest of your MOUSIE Girls, although I think it would be perfectly all right to put the new one with the black background with your other MOUSIE Girls if you want to, especially if you already have "Cigar Girl."

The title of the new "All Hallow's Eve New Orleans" is
"Turn, Turn, Turn." It is a picture of Persephone, the ancient Greek
goddess of Spring, who was once noticed by Hades, the god of the
Underworld, who so coveted her youth and beauty and liveliness that he
kidnapped her and dragged her off to his Kingdom. Her mother Demeter, the Earth Goddess, caused the earth to go bleak
for sorrow because no matter where she sought she couldn't find her lovely
daughter. Eventually Zeus made Hades relinquish Persephone and allow her to return to the living, and Demeter made the earth bloom again, but because Persephone had eaten 6 pomegranate seeds while she was in the
Underworld, every year at the autumnal equinox she must return again to sit beside Hades as his queen
in the Underworld, and the earth goes bleak again until her return in the
Spring. In the new print, Persephone is holding a pomegranate which is cut open to reveal the seeds (which form a subtle peace symbol) and on a small table beside her are the various stages of the pomegranate from bud to flower to fruit. Behind her is a round window that looks out on a New Orleans cemetery, and the quote at the bottom is from Ecclesiastes: "To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven." The song "Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There is a Season)" was adapted from the the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible and set to music in the 1950's by Pete Seeger, who added an ending phrase: "I swear it's not too late." It was not until 1962 that he recorded it and released it on his album The Bitter and The Sweet on Columbia Records. It has been covered by many other musicians, most notably by the The Byrds. The lyrics are taken almost verbatim from the King James version of the Bible (Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1–8)~
